Please note: the safari starts the morning of Day 1 (time to be confirmed by your guide a day prior to pick-up). You will need to pre-night in Maun and purchase drinks for your safari the day before your safari starts. Bush Ways can assist with pre-safari arrangements such as accommodation and transfers.
Day 1 – 3: Okavango Delta
The safari will begin in Maun, where your guide will meet you at a designated location. Upon reaching the Okavango Delta by the Gomoti River, you will meet local polers with their mekoro (dugout canoes). You will quietly cruise through river channels and floodplains, enjoying the stunning landscape. Over three days, you will explore the Delta with mokoro excursions and guided nature walks on islands and floodplains, camping on a small island for two nights and one night by a lagoon.
On the third afternoon, you will have the option to take a 30-minute helicopter flight with doors removed for breathtaking views. This must be booked during the safari, with payment in USD cash. The flight offers an aerial view of the Okavango, with the possibility of spotting elephants, giraffes, and hippopotami.
Distance: Maun to Okavango Delta: 75 km | Travel Time: 2 to 2.5 hours | Meals: B, L, D
NOTE: You will need to leave your main luggage in the trailer and pack a smaller bag (e.g. a small backpack or hand luggage) with essentials for your two-night stay on the island. Transfers from the mainland to the island will be conducted using dugout canoes (mekoro), which cannot carry large bags. Your main luggage will be securely stored in a vehicle parked in a protected area while you enjoy your time on the island.
Day 4 – 6: Moremi Game Reserve/Xakanaka/3rd Bridge and Khwai
After an early breakfast, you will head to Moremi Game Reserve, a premier wilderness area in Botswana with both floodplain and woodland habitats. You will spend three days searching for diverse wildlife and birds, enjoying the region’s beauty. You will stay at two different campsites, with game drives in the early morning and late afternoon. Camping will be in private sites with bush ablutions.

Day 7 : Southern Chobe National Park (Savuti/Zwei Zwei)

Savute’s dynamic ecosystem, with waterholes, dry river channels, and marshes, will attract a variety of animals, making each game drive exciting and unpredictable. You’ll camp in private designated areas with bush ablutions.
Distance: Moremi to Savute: 120 km | Travel Time: 7–8 hours (transfer and game drive) | Meals: B, L, D
Day 8 : Northern Chobe National Park

This transfer/game drive will take you from Southern Chobe National Park to the Chobe River floodplain.

This is where your time with the Bush Ways team (including translators) will come to an ends as they handover the group to the Zimbabwean team.
