Great excitement was had as the whole Bush Ways team gathered for our annual training week. This is the time of the year where we welcome new Field staff members to the team and have a great week of orientation where they get to know our management team, all the new staff and learn the Bush Ways standards that are expected.
Day 1 involved the whole team, including our Bush Ways and Sango Reservations & teams. We were privileged enough to have Mr Map Ives join works very closely with all Government departments with regards to Anti-Poaching initiatives in Botswana. His talk was extremely enlightening especially for all of our field team as of course, the Wildlife of Botswana is closest to our hearts.
Then Day 2 the field team joined by our management team of Marc, Mark, Judy & Kate headed off to the Central Kalahari where they spent a few days together. Here we worked closely together with our partners, Dinaka Lodge, experiencing the Bushman Experience that is part of our very popular Leopard Safari. A fantastic time was had getting to know the team there and we thank them for all the effort that they made while we were there.
We were treated to discussions from all of our guides on interesting topics that they had close to their hearts – a big well done from us!
And of course, we cannot forget the important role our Camp Chefs play while on safari, from not only cooking for us and looking after the campsites, but the extremely important role they play in ensuring the hygiene and safety of all food prepared in the bush. Well done to Lawrence, Donald, Papi & Lee for presenting the talk on hygiene and personal image. Great job guys!
And lastly, thank you to Mark for all the myriad of great lectures reiterating the importance all the topics that are vital to the success of our safaris.
We are looking forward to a successful 2013 and welcoming all of our guests.
